Email Notifications When Your Sentence is Accepted

It isn't very common that I log in to the site and see that there are one or two new sentences that have been submitted.  What usually happens is a new visitor will discover this site and start tearing through all of the movies we have here.  So on the administrative side of things, I usually come upon a list of 20 or 30 movie reviews.

I always think this is pretty cool.  I get a big kick out of the idea that someone arrives here and is interested enough to post their own thoughts not just once, but multiple times.  I realized this morning, though, that I didn't plan for that when I was adding new features to the site a few months ago.

The particular feature causing problems: users receive an email letting them know whenever one of their sentences is approved.  Of course, this meant that a new visitor might get assaulted with 20-30 emails that all said the exact same thing: Your sentence has been approved.

Spamming someone's inbox with automatically generated messages seems to me to be a pretty poor way to thank them for contributing their film critique expertise to my web site.  So I've made a little tweak to the programming.

Starting today, you will only receive one email message about your sentence being approved in a given day.  If you have 100 movie reviews approved in one day, you'll just get one message.  (You can still receive multiple emails if you have sentences that aren't approved because I want to make sure you get an explanation for each one of those.)

And apologies to everyone who got their inboxes flooded with messages from the Single Sentence Computer™ before I got this change made.
