High Expectations From the Voters

I added an item about this in the FAQ, but I want to talk about it in a little more depth.  Each reviewer has their own profile page which includes among other things, an aggregate approval rating.  This is calculated by adding up the yay! and boo! votes on all of their individual movie reviews.

Up to this point in the life of this young web site, the readers seem to be demanding nothing less than fantastic sentences.  At the time of this writing, the highest-rated reviewer is at 61%.

Ultimately, I think this might be a good thing.  Although I feel really good about some of the sentences I've posted on this site, they're definitely not all home runs.  Knowing that people are paying attention and noticing when I put a lemon up pushes me to come up with something better.  I think the site will be much stronger if the people reading these sentences give feedback when something isn't meeting their expectations.

In the meantime, maybe I need to start calculating our grades on a curve.  :)
