For well over a year I have spent almost zero time at Single Sentence Movie Review. Why? Well my 14-month-old daughter is a big part of it. She's pretty much been my one and only passion project for this whole time.

But she's starting to gain a little more independence, and I'm starting to gain a little more of my free time back. Naturally my eyes are returning to SSMR, and there's a lot I would like to do.

There are new tools, web applications, and social media that I'm excited to integrate into the site. I've also added quite a bit to my bag of tricks over the last year as I've continued to develop sites for clients from 9 to 5.

So I'm looking at making dramatic changes to how SSMR functions in 2010. The core will still remain. You watch a movie. (Or don't watch it. How would we know?) And leave a one sentence review. Sentences are voted on. Fame and glory are bestowed upon those of you who manage to delight and amuse us.

In the meantime, I'm going to get back on track with approving submissions people have made. (The submission/approval process is at the top of my list of things to upgrade.) So to those of you who have submitted sentences and assumed I forgot all about you: fear not.

The wheels of Single Sentence Movie Review are starting back up. Slowly mind you, but they are starting. By the end of the year - or hopefully sooner - you'll see some big upgrades to the site's design, functionality, and underlying data structure.
