For the most part sentences are raw text without any formatting.  I did decide that it made sense to me to allow italics.  I know that some of the sentences I've written seem funnier to me when I can emphasize certain words.  (see: Down With Love)

So you are allowed to use the < em > tag in your sentences.  For those of you who don't have a lot of experience with HTML, this is actually pretty simple.  If you want your sentence to appear like this...

This is my really awesome sentence.

...you should enter your sentence as...

This is my < em > really awesome < /em > sentence.

Note: I include a space between the "<" and the "em" in this example so that you can see it.  When you remove the space, the Single Sentence Computer™ will automatically italicize the correct section.  (Don't worry if this is overwhelming.  All sentences are checked by a human.  If you can't get the formatting just right, someone we'll usually be able to tell what you meant and make the appropriate adjustments to your sentence.)
