1. Purpose
This page describes the procedure for reporting suspected copyright infringement in member-generated content posted on singleSentence (“the Service”). The procedure is provided in accordance with Article 103 of the Korean Copyright Act.
2. How to Submit a Notice
- Send your notice to: singlesentence.com@gmail.com
- Please mark the subject line with “[Copyright Notice]”.
- Notices may be submitted in Korean or English.
3. Required Information
Per Article 40 of the Enforcement Decree of the Copyright Act, your notice must include all of the following. Missing items will delay review while we ask you to supplement them.
- Your name, address, phone number, and email address
- Evidence that you are the copyright owner or authorized agent
- Identification of the copyrighted work alleged to be infringed (title, type, author, year of publication)
- Location of the allegedly infringing material within the Service (URL of the content or sentence)
- Evidence supporting the claim of infringement
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, with your signature
- An acknowledgment that you understand the legal consequences of false statements
4. Review Procedure and Timeline
- The Service will review notices within 14 business days of receipt.
- If a notice satisfies the requirements set out above, the Service will hide the allegedly infringing content or sentence and notify the submitter of the outcome.
- The Service will notify the affected member, who may submit a counter-notice under Section 5.
- If the notice does not meet the requirements or requires additional materials, the Service will ask the submitter to supplement. If no response is received within 14 days of that request, the notice will be closed.
5. Counter-Notice
- A member who has received a takedown notice and believes their content does not infringe copyright may submit a counter-notice to the email in Section 2 within 30 days of receiving the notice.
- The counter-notice must include the member’s name and contact information, the location of the content, the reason the takedown is believed to be incorrect, and a statement that the information is accurate.
- The Service will review the counter-notice within 14 business days and either restore the content or maintain the takedown, notifying both parties of the outcome.
6. False Notices
Submitters who knowingly or negligently file false notices and thereby cause damage to a member or the Service may be liable under civil or criminal law. The same applies to false counter-notices.
7. Repeat Infringers
Members who repeatedly infringe copyright may be subject to account restriction or termination pursuant to the procedures set out in the Terms of Service.
